Escaping the Irish “summer”..x..
So with this awful Irish summer we’ve been having, more and more people are quickly jumping on the bandwagon and booking a cheap week or two in the sun. I myself included, found myself a cheap week of sun, sea, and sand, in the gorgeous old town of Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote. We stayed in the beautiful apartments, Balcón del Mar, and everything was within walking distance – Beach, Shops, Pubs and Clubs. Just taught I would share my views on the place and some suggestions for anyone who might be headed there!!
Some things that I would recommend are :
-Doing a day trip on the stunning catamaran, the Catalanza – just make sure you book the adults only trip! Food, champagne, jet ski and snorkeling equipment all included in the price. http://www.catlanza.com/
-Try taking the water ferry over to the breathtakingly beautiful, Puerto Calero also, which is a favorite of many celebs. We were amazingly lucky and saw an abundance of friendly dolphins, a whale, and even a flying fish – truly incredible! https://www.aquaticket.com/at_producto_en.asp?id=68&c=
-Finally, you have to take a day trip out to the volcanoes of the island. We used last minute travel excursions, but there are loads of options available. We did the South Tour and went wine tasting, rode a camel and went to the famous Timanfaya National Park, where they even cook food directly off the heat of the live volcanoe – amazing, and definatley a must see!! http://www.lastminute-transfer.com/excursiones/
